Our Actions

Scope 1, 2 and 3 data

In 2022, we worked with Emitwise to collect comprehensive data from our operations and supply chain to calculate a representative emissions baseline to set reduction targets. On our journey to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045, we are dedicated to increasing the accuracy of our data and transparently disclosing our figures annually. Our 2023 greenhouse gas emissions assessment covers our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, with details on each activity type within each scope.
Our total emissions for 2023 amount to 930,826 tCO2e, with the emissions split across the following scopes:

Scope 1

603,154.44 tCO2e

64.80%

Scope 2

20,758.59 tCO2

2.23%

Scope 3

306,913.12 tCO2e

32.97%

Regarding specific activity types, our most material categories, in terms of total emissions, are:

Mobile combustion

602,760.06 tCO2e

64.76%

Fuel and energy-related services

195,793.72 tCO2

21.03%

Purchased goods and services

68,617.28 tCO2e

7.37%

As a transportation company, we are interested in the most relevant intensity metrics for the services we offer to our clients. We have calculated (TTW) an average of 0.87 kg CO2 per km travelled across Hegelmann Division West’s companies. We leverage this emissions data to identify hotspots within our operations and supply chain and to prioritise where we can implement reduction initiatives to maximise our impact.
